{And then my soul saw you and it kind of went, "Oh, there you are. I've been looking for you."}

We have left the birth suites for the final time ... as patients at least. Sage Elizabeth has finally joined us earth side + we are so happy she chose us! She shares the name, Elizabeth, with both her Maternal and Paternal Grandmothers - and I share that middle name, too. Her daddy chose the name Sage. Which was great - because I was having a TIME trying to figure out names. Sage is an herb used cross culturally to spiritually and mentally cleanse. It is also said to have properties of memory retention (memories are my jam) and contributing to a long and healthy life. The word itself means wise, it's a pretty, earthy color, and ... when my husband says her name, it makes my heart smile.

Noah, Jude, and Zion are absolutely enamored with her. Zion, the newest big brother already tried to blame her for drinking all the juice in the hospital room. He very sheepishly said, "Baby drank it all," to see what the reaction would be. Then he laughed along when we all giggled at his failed attempt at getting her in trouble. Despite his eagerness to blame his little sister, Zion is very protective of her. He gave the nurse a stink eye from crazy town when she started poking baby girl (causing Miss Sage to cry.) The newest big brother also insisted on holding [his] baby as much as possible when he would visit us in the hospital. Such a great little guy. The experienced big brothers were just as curious, but more cautious about holding her. That cautiousness faded quickly. Now that we are all home - we rotate snuggle time with sweet Sage on a timer.

My heart is overflowing with the love, messages, visits, and kindness sent our way by family, friends, and beyond this past week. I take everything directly to my heart and am so, so thankful. My eyes have glassed over - holding back tears - while reading messages, emails, voicemails, etc. If you have heard my voice in the last week there is a 95% chance you have heard it quiver, or choke back the overwhelming emotions, too. In the words of our Jude, "There are lots of good things happening."
