Walking into this birthing suite was like walking into a dream. This Momma even said, "Hi, Claire!" as I walked in -- while she was in the middle of a completely natural labor. Music was playing the BEST tunes to sooth the process, and Dad was 110% involved and ready with water, ice, back rubs, support, kisses, and hand holding. Everyone - nurses, doctors, me - everyone commented on the energy in this room and how beautiful it was. As a runner this Momma handled the contractions like a complete athlete, a superhero. On the last couple of pushes - a light filled the room dramatically. It was something out of a movie. Everyone collectively got goosebumps (I know because everyone exchanged smiles) and then there he was. Baby boy joined us to the tune of mom + dad's joyful tears and warm snuggles. He decided he was ready to eat within seconds and mom entered into motherhood like a complete goddess. Parents + brother were called into the room and the energy amplified again. Phone calls were made, and baby boy was introduced to everyone. SO much love. What a beautiful day to be born. xo
